BMI View : Challenging political and macroeconomic conditions in the Middle East and North Africa will continue to challenge multinational drugmakers' performance and regional growth. This is dictating a number of strategic developments, including greater stakeholder engagement, new product launches and diversified therapeutic development from firms in the region. Crucially, a country-specific approach is integral for pharmaceutical companies as they must adapt to the evolving pricing landscape, differing levels of patent protection and the level of competition within each market.
