News: The Indian government approved a project involving six lanes of the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in the country, at an estimated cost of INR62.84bn (US$1.01bn). The project will be carried out on a build, operate and transfer basis in a design, build, finance, operate and transfer pattern. The 135km-long highway, which links the national highways of the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh bypassing Delhi, will expedite development in the two states and ease traffic in the national capital.
