The Polish Ministry of Health's goal of demonopolising the National Health Fund (NFZ) looks to have taken a step forward after the Ministry began an interdepartmental consultation on a draft law that would divide the single state fund into six smaller regional funds. The aim of decentralising the fund is to increase efficiencies in the way in which the country's mandatory health insurance budget is spent, introducing competition between different public entities and eventually also private sector
