The UK's GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has entered into an agreement with South Africa's Aspen Pharmacare, which it hopes will accelerate its sales in emerging markets. BMI believes that GSK's main motivation for the deal was outsourcing in order to lower costs since GSK will retain responsibility for registration, sales and distribution of the products. BMI expects oncology products to be central to the agreement due to the inclusion of Onco Therapies, Aspen's 50-50 joint venture with India's Strides Arcolab in the
