A new study published in The Lancet medical journal demonstrates the growing body of evidence that inexpensive malaria drugs can offer benefits in malaria treatment programmes beyond simply reducing death. The study measured the effects on the health and education of children treated with sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine + amodiaquine (SP + AQ).
