Sales for Wyeth's Prevenar PCV7 (7-valent pneumococcal saccharide conjugated vaccine) are to be given a boost after it was added to national immunisation programmes in six countries in Europe and the Middle East. Since 2000, when the vaccine was first launched in the US, where it is known as Prevnar, it has gained access to 88 markets. With the addition of Bahrain, Cyprus, Hungary, Ireland, Slovakia and Sweden, Prevenar is now included in 24 national immunisation programmes.
