South Africa's Department of Health has announced the awarding of contracts worth ZAR3.62bn (US$468.1mn) for its two-year HIV/AIDS tender, which will begin retrospectively from June 1. A further six ARV contracts are due to be announced in the coming weeks. Negotiations are ongoing with Abbott Laboratories regarding the patented ARV Kaletra
