Patient groups in Yemen are arguing that a decision by the Ministry of Health to substitute a patented drug used in kidney transplant operations with a generic version from India is putting patient safety at risk. The drug had previously been sourced from Germany. However, a new tender was awarded to an Indian drugmaker, which, according to the Ministry of Health, offered a more competitively priced
