Another drugmaker has outlined an aggressive strategy to penetrate Japan's booming generic drug sector, confirming the trend that has emerged over the last six months. US-based Mylan Laboratories will launch new products for the treatment of neurological disorders, introduce advanced formulation technologies and supply rivals with cheap raw ingredients. Given the sector's attractive growth rates, BMI expects other major generic drugmakers - such as Switzerland's Sandoz and US firm Barr Laboratories - to increase their footprint in Japan.
