German speciality glass and plastics manufacturer, Gerresheimer, has acquired Brazil's largest pharmaceutical packaging firm, Allplas Embalagens. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed. However, German media sources quoted a price of EUR70mn (US$102mn). BMI considers this figure to be in line with Allplas' valuation, given its sales - estimated at US$23.4mn in 2007 - and market leading position in a high growth
