The Bulgarian US$1.35bn health system is set to undergo a dramatic change as the government agrees to liberalise the health insurance sector. Although remaining tight-lipped about the plans, the cabinet is thought to be considering ending the monopoly of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).
