The delivery of healthcare policy in Dubai is to be shaken up following the establishment of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) earlier in 2007. Over the next four years the Department of Health and Medical Services (DoHMS) is to be phased out and replaced by several smaller agencies overseen by the DHA. Responsibility for the implementation of tasks currently controlled by the DoHMS will be divided between the new agencies, while the DHA will have an 'overseer' role with responsibility for strategy and budget
