Israel's generics heavyweight Teva Pharmaceutical Industries has announced it is to invest a massive US$149mn in its local facilities over the next three years. The majority of the investment will be channelled to Teva-Tech, part of its active pharmaceutical (API) division, signalling it plans to take on up-and-coming API manufacturers based in emerging Asian markets. Teva-Tech operates a US FDA-approved high-volume API manufacturing plant in Israel, which also produces some niche products such as Vitamin D
