BMI has revised its forecasts for the French over-the-counter (OTC) drug sales, as the government looks to shift 5% of volume sales form the prescription to the OTC sector. Although the details of the final plan are still being negotiated, BMI is confident that the authorities will be at least partially successful in their efforts. Subsequently we expect the share of the OTC drugs will grow over the next five years to reach 10% of the total market, or US$3.1bn.
