Following their arrival en masse in 2004, Polish builders are ubiquitous in the UK. Now it appears that pharmacists are joining their compatriots. Poland's Polska Grupa Farmaceutyczna (PGF) is to open a chain of pharmacies in the UK and has registered an independent firm - DOZ UK Limited - to coordinate the strategic objective of securing market share. However, BMI is sceptical that PGF will significantly impact the dominant position of Boots, nor compete effectively with the supermarkets.
