Belgium industrial conglomerate Solvay recorded strong results in 2006, driven by surging sales for its pharmaceuticals division. Turnover in 2006 reached EUR9.4bn (US$12.3bn), with pharmaceuticals accounting for 28% of this total after growing 15% in 2006 to EUR2.6bn (US$3.4bn).
