Slovenia's Krka has reached an out-of-court settlement with French firm Servier over a generic version of the latter's perindopril - an ACE inhibitor for the treatment of hypertension. Under the deal, Krka will be able to market Prenessa in several Eastern European countries, although not in the lucrative UK market. It is BMI's view that the earlier than expected resolution of the issue is positive for both parties because litigation is a drain on both time and money.
