Demonstrating confidence in France's business environment, UK drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is to invest EUR500mn (US$637mn) in a new vaccine production plant in St Amand-Les-Eaux, France, near the Belgian border. It is BMI's view that the move was designed to meet booming demand for GSK's adult and paediatric vaccines, and anticipated strong uptake of Cervarix, a revolutionary cervical cancer vaccine that is expected to enter the market next year.
