There has been little progress on concerns voiced by the US Ambassador to Chile, Craig Kelly, over alleged violations of intellectual property rights by indigenous drug manufacturers. Despite signing a free trade agreement (FTA) with the US in 2004, the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) has recently added Chile to its 'watch' list of countries where equitable market access by US firms is threatened.
