Peru's ministry of health has claimed that the incidence of hypertension in the country is reaching hear-epidemic levels. According to officials, some 22% of the population in coastal and mountainous regions of Peru suffer from the condition. The ministry has launched an awareness campaign urging the public to improve exercise and diet. Peru's cardiovascular drug market was valued at just US$28mn in
