Pakistan exported pharmaceutical products worth US$61.8mn to over 80 countries last year, according to the country's Federal Minister for Health. Exports have been boosted by the WTO's free-trade initiative, which has helped Pakistan sell its generic drugs in different areas of the world. Meanwhile, the government is devising various incentives to encourage local producers to achieve greater success in this sector.
