Zimbabwe has announced an increase in the cost of healthcare at public hospitals as the country's economic crisis deepens. Fees in public hospitals have risen to ZWD1mn (US$10) from a level of ZWD3000, according to local press reports. The authorities claim that the rises will pay for improved care and treatment.
