GSK Enters Collaboration With Chroma To Treat Inflammatory Disorders
June 2009 | Company BriefNews: UK-based pharmaceutical and healthcare company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has entered into a collaboration with local biotechnology company Chroma Therapeutics for the development of macrophage-targeted compounds to treat inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis. Under the terms of the collaboration, Chroma will carry out four discovery and development programmes to identify small molecule therapeutics, by utilising its proprietary esterase-sensitive motif (ESM) technology. Chroma is expected to receive around US$1bn as total milestone as well as option payments should all the programmes succeed.
