Beijing Expands Health Facilities To Treat Psychiatric Illnesses

News: Beijing is increasing the number of mental health facilities in the country to treat the rising number of patients with psychiatric illnesses, reports Xinhua News Agency. The Municipal Health Bureau has stated that additional hospitals will be required to establish psychiatric departments. Currently, the city boasts 6,900 psychiatric beds across 32 hospitals and clinics. However, it is estimate that patients with severe mental illness currently number as many as 150,000.
