Ratiopharm To Enter Second Round For Takeover Bids
February 2010 | Industry Trend AnalysisPfizer has withdrawn its bid for German pharmaceutical company Ratiopharm , leaving Israel's Teva and Iceland's Actavis to compete for the firm. Teva's position as the largest generic manufacturer in the world, coupled with its strategy to expand through acquisitions places it in a solid position to buy out Ratiopharm. Moreover, Teva's strong foothold in the emerging markets and US means that it will be looking to developed European markets where it does not have a major presence for new revenue growth.
