Drug Pricing Pressures Will Continue To Limit Pharmaceutical Market Growth

BMI View: Throughout 2009 and 2010, the Slovakian pharmaceutical market has faced considerable challenges in the form of government- imposed drug price controls and weakening domestic demand. In 2011 and 2012, the country's drug industry faces fresh challenges. The recently elected coalition government has proposed further price erosion mechanisms and caps on out-of-pocket (P) spending on prescription medicines for pensioners and disabled persons.
