Government Pressure To Cut Prices Of Generic Drugs
July 2010 | Industry Trend AnalysisIn order to contain rising healthcare costs in British Columbia, the price of generic drugs covered by PharmaCare are to be reduced to 35% of the price of their branded counterparts, resulting in estimated annual savings of CAD$380mn (US$368mn) for the province. By year three of the agreement, the government plans to have reinvested around CAD$35mn (US$33.4mn) from the resulting savings into new clinical pharmacy
