Inadequate Funding Has Led To Delayed Implementation Of Village Health Teams Strategy
July 2010 | Industry Trend AnalysisBMI View: The Ugandan government has reduced the country's health budget for 2010/11 by 14%. BMI believes this will lead to further delays in the implementation of Village Health Teams - an important aspect of healthcare provision in Uganda. Village Health Teams play an important role in healthcare promotion and provision and have been established in 75% of the districts in Uganda. However, only 31% of the districts have trained VHTs in all the villages due to the lack of financial rewards for team members.
