Casa Saba Buys Chilean Firm FASA
May 2010 | Industry Trend AnalysisMexican holding company Grupo Casa Saba (GCS) is acquiring Santiago-based Farmacias Ahumada (FASA) in a deal worth approximately US$637mn, including the additional assumption of US$162mn in debt. Executives have agreed the deal, which now only needs approval from regulators. GCS said it would pay CLP1.642 (US$0.003) for each of the 150mn FASA shares in circulation and that the offer is contingent upon the successful tender of at least 51% of outstanding FASA
