Oman Pharmaceutical Products (OPP) has announced that recent US FDA approval for one of its antibiotic products will result in the drug's export to the US in due course. The Oman-based generic drugmaker will be able to boost its sales through the lucrative US healthcare market and, more significantly, will be exporting an essential medicine which is sure to experience a rapid rise in demand after the healthcare reform and later, the patent cliff, in the US.
