Sanofi-Aventis To Cut Jobs

Sanofi-Aventis Canada has announced that it will eliminate approximately 70 positions across the country by July 2010. According to Hugh O'Neill, President and CEO of Sanofi-Aventis, the job losses are necessary to transform its Canadian operations in order to 'ensure sustainable long term growth'. The company hopes to adapt to the changing needs of patients while also surmounting challenges due to loss of patent exclusivity.
