Ontario Cuts Healthcare Costs
April 2010 | Industry Trend AnalysisBMI is poised to revise downwards its forecast for generic drug market expenditure in Canada after the provincial government of Ontario proposed cutting the price of generic drug prescriptions from 50% of the equivalent brand-name drug to 25%. It also intends to eliminate professional allowances, which are rebates paid by generic drug manufacturers to pharmacies as an incentive for them to sell their products.
