Negative Trade Balance To Grow

Kenya's pharmaceutical exports reached a value of KES7,023mn (US$91.15mn) in 2009 and by 2014, BMI expects this figure to rise to KES10,994mn (US$175.67mn), equating to a 9.38% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in local currency terms and 14.02% in US dollar terms. Pharmaceutical imports were valued at KES23,921mn (US$310.50mn) in 2009 and are expected to reach a value of KES37,779mn (US$603.65mn) by 2014, equating to a CAGR of 9.57% in local currency terms and 14.22% in US dollar terms.
