Bayer To Develop Companion Diagnostics For Oncology Drugs Via Collaboration With Prometheus

In line with BMI's core view that the development of therapeutics in combination with diagnostics will become more common, multinational drugmaker Bayer Schering Pharma has entered into a research collaboration and licence agreement with Prometheus Laboratories, a specialty pharmaceutical and diagnostic company. The partnership will focus on the development of companion diagnostics for Bayer's extensive pipeline of oncology drugs. Companion diagnostics are bioanalytical assays designed to assist with treatment decisions based on the efficacy and/or safety of a specific compound or class of compounds for specific patient populations.
