Biotech Sector At A Glance

According to a report published by Rapporto Blossom & Company, Biotechnologie In Italia 2009, the country's biotechnology sector is developing rapidly, with approximately 260 companies employing 41,000 people, of which nearly 9,000 are employed in research and development (R&D). Approximately EUR1.5bn is invested in R&D annually and the industry now generates turnover of approximately EUR15.3bn.
