Japan Tops Asia Pacific Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare Business Environment Ratings

Japan is the most attractive market for multinational drugmakers operating in Asia Pacific, according to BMI's recently compiled Q210 Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare Business Environment Ratings (BERs). Although growth in sales of medicines is low (+1.3% in 2010), the country has a very large market in absolute terms. Furthermore, per-capita spending is high, most people live in urban areas, there is a sizeable pensionable population and regulations are transparent.
