PhRMA Cites Four Middle Eastern Countries In Special 301 Submission

The latest submission by the PhRMA to the upcoming 2010 Special 301 report by the US Trade Representative (USTR) has placed Algeria and Lebanon on the priority watch list, while Saudi Arabia has been included on the watch list. We caution that these are recommendations and await the Special 301 itself which will provide more details on the impact this could have on the pharmaceutical sectors of these countries. Meanwhile, we will review the rationale for the Middle East's relatively poor intellectual property protection and business environment.
