GSK Makes Cervical Cancer Vaccine Affordable

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has announced that it has reduced the price of Cervarix, its cervical cancer vaccine, in Nigeria by 50% to allow more girls access to vaccination. According to a leading medical professional in Nigeria, 8,000 women die per year in the country due to the lack of proper diagnosis and prevention strategies, which should decrease in the short term as vaccinations cause the number of new cases decline.
