The Common Drug Review and the federal Patented Medicines Review Board (PMRB) are the major governmental bodies in this process. The protracted and complex approvals process can hinder access to new and innovative medicines, and streamlining will ultimately be necessary. However, we believe that the decentralised nature of the pricing strategy is unlikely to change.
