Aché To Capitalise On Upcoming Patent Expiries
February 2010 | Industry Trend AnalysisBrazilian pharmaceutical company Aché is investing US$120mn in its production capabilities in anticipation of the upcoming patent cliff, with around 25 brands of medicines set to lose intellectual property protection from 2010-2011. José Ricardo Mendes da Silva, president of Aché, told Valor Econômico that the company has 100 projects that will be launched over the next three years, with 10 generics or similares to be launched in 2010.
