Pharmaceutical Sales In Line With BMI Expectations

Pharmaceutical sales in Bulgaria grew by 8.1% to BGN1.72bn (US$1.25bn) in 2009, according to data released by primary market research firm IMS Health. The expansion, which was only slightly below BMI's estimate of 8.4%, highlights the anticipated strong expansion in the prescription sector. Prescription drugs grew by 9.2% and over-the-counter medicines (OTC) by 3.2%, demonstrating a strong correlation with our estimates of 9.8% and 3.4%
