Pharmaceutical Exports Exceed All Expectations
January 2010 | Industry Trend AnalysisThe Egyptian Ministry of Health has announced that medicine exports in 2009 exceeded its expectations by reaching a value of EGP3.5bn (US$628mn). Comparing the ministry's forecast of EGP1bn (US$180mn) with BMI's outlook of US$179mn shows that our forecasts were very much in line with reality before confirmed data was available, and further that there has been a dramatic and unexpected upturn in the country's pharmaceutical export sales.
