Healthcare Expenditure To Reach US$131bn By 2014

Healthcare spending in South Korea is expected to increase from KRW75,117bn (US$58.9bn) in 2009 to KRW84,053bn (US$80.1bn) in 2010. Due to the strengthening won, this equates to growth of 36.0% in US dollar terms and 11.9% in local currency terms. BMI notes that these expansion figures are above the respective 2004-2008 compound annual growth rates (CAGRs) of 11.0% and 9.6%.
