Reimbursement Environment Deteriorating For Drugmakers

BMI considers Hungary's reimbursement system to be fairly restrictive compared to other markets in Central and Eastern Europe, particularly from an industry perspective. Although the National Health Insurance Fund (OEP) reimburses most of the pharmaceuticals in Hungary, the regime is seen as strict and is increasingly shifting costs to patients and pharmaceutical companies in order to manage escalating expenditure needs.
