Eli Lilly's Cymbalta Receives FDA Approval For Sixth Indication

The US Food and Drug Administration has approved multinational drugmaker Eli Lilly's blockbuster drug, Cymbalta (duloxetine) for the maintenance treatment of generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) in adults. Generalised anxiety disorder affects nearly 7mn Americans and its symptoms include excessive worry or anxiety, difficulties controlling worry, irritability, poor concentration, sleep disturbances, fatigue, restlessness and muscle tension. Cymbalta also is approved for the acute and maintenance treatment of major depressive disorder, the management of diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain and fibromyalgia.
