Innovation Pass Pilot Launched
December 2009 | Industry Trend AnalysisAn pilot scheme for the 'Innovation Pass', which would allow earlier access to innovative medicines targeting rare diseases that have not been appraised by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), has been launched by the UK government. As the number of patients using these drugs is small, the current lack of available evidence means that NICE is not able to conduct a full assessment for their use on the National Health Service (NHS).
