Initiative To Produce Swine Flu Vaccines Announced
November 2009 | Industry Trend AnalysisArgentinean President Christina Kirchner Fernandez has announced that local production of a swine flu vaccine will commence in 2010, via a new plant and a partnership between local laboratories, Elea and Biogenesis-Bago, and Novartis Argentina SA (a part of the multinational drugmaker Novartis). The president signed a decree authorising local production, stating that it was in the interest of the country's population that Argentina should produce its own A(H1N1) vaccines, as the national health system would then receive preferential access.
