New Guidelines Require Full Disclosure Of Clinical Trials

Global clinical trial transparency is poised to increase from 2010 onwards, following the introduction of updated guidelines requiring companies to disclose information on all patient studies. The Council of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations (IFPMA) approved the 'Joint Position on the Disclosure of Clinical Trial Information via Clinical Trial Registries and Databases' on November 10 2009. BMI welcomes the extension of the guideline's remit as the inclusion of earlier stage trials should provide greater insight into early stage development and safety.
