Government's Contribution To Health Expenditure Forecast To Decline

In 2008, Finnish health expenditure reached EUR14.9bn (US$21.9bn) and by 2009 it is expected to top EUR15.4bn. However, as a result of the weakening euro, health expenditure in US dollar terms will decline to US$21.7bn in 2009. Over the 2009-2014 forecast period, BMI calculates that healthcare spending will increase by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.5% in local currency terms and 1.3% in US dollar terms to reach EUR18.3bn (US$23.1bn).
