Donations Undermine Local Manufacturing Without Government Funding

Earlier in October BMI covered the dire situation experienced by pharmaceutical firms in Zimbabwe in light of declining or absent government funding within the industry. In this context, we discuss the paradox of much-needed drug donations entering the country and undermining limited local production as the government continues to refrain from investing in domestic drugmakers facing closure through prolonged financial difficulties caused by the macroeconomic downturn.
